What is KidsSAFE?

Hi! We’re St Marks Safety Squad. A Safety Squad is a group of children who work together to keep other children in the community safe.
We are in year 6 and aged 9-10. We have been working with a lady called Emma from Safety Net who has been giving us advice on how we can keep safe. We have found Emma’s sessions really fun and helpful.
We want to make sure you know how to stay safe too so that is why we have made KidsSAFE, a safety manual of top tips so that you can keep safe around school and other places.

A youth club which was set up after a teenager was murdered could close within six months, The Argus can reveal.

The Crew Club, set up following the fatal stabbing of Jay Kensett in 1999, offers support to more than 200 young people in Brighton and Hove every week.

But almost 11 years to the day after Jay’s death, bosses at the Crew Club warn its funding pot is now dry.
